Former MEGADETH Bassist In Talks To Play On WARMACHINE Debut
June 26, 2003Despite published reports to the contrary, former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has yet to be officially recruited to play the bass tracks on the forthcoming debut album from Toronto's WARMACHINE.
"By now I'm sure most of you have heard about [WARMACHINE bassist] Andrea [Zanini]'s possible departure from the band and David Ellefson's possible involvement with the album," WARMACHINE guitarist/vocalist Joe Di Taranto writes in the band's official forum at www.warmachineonline.com. "The news that's leaked out on the net is NOT official yet. Andrea has been thinking about leaving the band for some time now and it was only brought to my attention recently. He told us to prepare for him to leave and so we have. We are in talks with David about him playing the bass tracks on our album, but we still haven't come to a final decision on that yet.
"It's unfortunate that this leaked out before we had a chance to officially announce it ourselves-100%, but that's how it goes I guess. Please sit tight and we'll be sure to let you know what happens from here..."
As previously reported, Ellefson will tentatively be co-producing WARMACHINE's debut CD with Murray Daigle, who had worked with the group on a previous recording, and may also use his connections to help the quartet land a contract with one of the larger independent metal labels.
